Shark warning signs removed from Magic Island

Advertiser Staff

Shark warning signs have been removed from the Magic Island end of Ala Moana Beach Park, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.

Lifeguards posted the signs Monday afternoon after a diver reported seeing what appeared to be a 12-foot tiger shark take a bite out of his fish catch-bag about 2 p.m.

No one was injured.

City Ocean Safety officials decided to close the area after examining the diver's bag.
