Waikiki woman faces DUI, other charges

Advertiser Staff

A 49-year-old Waikiki woman was charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicant and resisting arrest in connection with a reckless driving incident late Sunday night.

Gail N. Kanagusuku's bail totals $1,500. She was released pending further investigation on felony counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree reckless endangering.

Kanagusuku was arrested early yesterday after she refused an officer's order to stop. The officer allegedly saw her speeding vehicle go through two red lights and nearly causing a collision. Police also said she swerved her vehicle in front of the officer's vehicle, causing the HPD vehicle to hit a curb, before speeding off and nearly hitting another vehicle.
