Two charged but not for firearm offenses

Advertiser Staff

Two men were released pending further investigation on suspected firearm offenses but charged today on outstanding warrants.

Quadrales Jerod Watson, 24, is being held on two contempt warrants and for violating conditions of his bail release for an unrelated offense to the firearm case. Watson, who has 10 prior convictions, is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Gene Moseby, 20, is being held on a $300 warrant.

The two men were arrested Tuesday in Makiki on warrants for investigation after a police officer saw a firearm in a car leaving the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant Aug. 1 where Watson and Moseby were allegedly engaged in an argument with two other men.

A bag containing three firearms with defaced serial numbers was allegedly handed to police by a woman while Watson and Moseby were being arrested. A sawed-off shotgun and AR7 rifle, which was later identified by the officer involved in the Aug. 1 case as the weapon seen in the car, were in the bag.

Police are testing the guns to see if they have been involved in any shooting cases.
