Oahu commuters facing triple whammy this morning

Advertiser Staff

Oahu commuters are facing three major problems this morning.

At least two town-bound lanes of the H-1 Freeway have been closed following a 6 a.m. crash involving a motorcycle and one car or more near the Waimalu off-ramp. Traffic trying to get into the Pearl City-Aiea area is backed up beyond Kunia Road.

And, about 3:45 a.m., a traffic crash took out the traffic signals on Ka Uka Boulevard near the Costco store in Gentry Waipio.

West-bound lanes of Ka Uka are closed and repairs will likely take most of the day, police said.

Meanwhile, an overnight water main break on Kalakaua Avenue makai of Kapiolani Boulevard, has resulted in the closure of three lanes on Kalakaua leading into Waikiki.

Repairs are expected to take most of the day.
