CHICAGO — Glasgow Rangers midfielder DaMarcus Beasley was added today to the U.S. roster for next week's World Cup qualifier at Guatemala.

Hale'iwa native Brian Ching, a Houston Dynamo forward, was named to the team yesterday.

Players gather in Miami starting Sunday ahead of next Wednesday's match, the first in the semifinal round of the North and Central American and Caribbean region.

The United States, trying to qualify for its sixth straight World Cup, is in a semifinal group that also includes Cuba, and Trinidad and Tobago. The top two teams advance to next year's regional finals.

The top three teams in the finals qualify for the 2010 tournament in South Africa, and the No. 4 team advances to a playoff against the No. 5 nation from South America.

Beasley became the 18th player picked for the game. The others were announced Thursday.
