Ala Wai harbor parking plan meeting Wednesday

Advertiser Staff

A meeting to discuss the state's Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor parking plan is scheduled Wednesday at Jefferson Elementary School Cafeteria in Waikiki.

The meeting, from 6-8 p.m., is the initial step in developing an ad hoc advisory committee to provide community feedback to the Department of Land and Natural Resources for the long-term management of parking areas and public access at the small boat harbor.

Comment from harbor residents, boaters, recreational users, yacht club members, visitor industry, harbor neighbors, and other facility users is invited, said DLNR chair Laura H. Thielen.

"The public input from the ad hoc committee being formed will be crucial to the plan's success as DLNR develops its request for proposals for the long-term parking plan at Ala Wai," Thielen said.
