Weather: Steady trades with a few light showers

The trade winds are expected to continue blowing at least through early next week, the National Weather Service said.

Typical trade wind weather will bring a few clouds and showers affecting mainly the windward and mauka areas, and blowing over to the lee areas of smaller areas at times.

Here's how things look heading toward the weekend:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind between 11 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
