Weekly '80s party gets name change and new home

Advertiser Staff

The weekly party known as Acid Wash has undergone a name and venue change, but promoters say it's the same popular '80s-themed event that it's always been.

When Chinatown nightclub Next Door closed for renovation in July, Acid Wash was also put on hold until promoters could find a new spot for the Wednesday-night event.

This morning, local promoter G-Spot announced that Acid Wash is back as "Totally 80s" in its new home just down the street from where the party first got started. The Loft (115 N. Hotel St.) will now host the weekly party and DJs G-Spot, Nocturna, Quiksilva and Vegas Mike are back at the table spinning everything from classic Madonna to some obscure industrial goth tunes that'll make you wonder how you ever survived the decade without having at least one grufti mixed tape.

Totally '80s breaks in its new digs next Wednesday, August 27 at 9 p.m., and then repeats every Wednesday until...well, until they call it quits. There is no cover charge, but admission is restricted to those 21 and older.
