Weather: Passing showers likely today

Passing trade wind showers will affect mainly windward and mountain areas today, the National Weather Service said.

A high pressure area will remain north of the islands producing moderate trades through the weekend, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at the weekend:

Today: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind between 11 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday: Scattered showers, mainly before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
