COMIC MARK CURRY

Tickets are on sale for a series of comedy shows featuring Mark Curry, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 3-7 at the Cirque Hawaii Showroom in Waikiki.

Curry is perhaps best known as the star of "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper," the 1992-1997 ABC sitcom.

Tickets — $17, $20 and $25 — are available at the Cirque Hawaii box office and MWR offices. 922-0017.

KINGS OF SPADE

Kings of Spade, the funk/soul/blues/rock band formerly known as X-Factor, releases its debut studio album, "Crave," at Ong King Arts Center Sept. 12.

The event is from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission is $10; for those 21 and older.

Originally from Hawai'i, the band has spent the past two years in Los Angeles. Members are Kasi Nunes, vocals; Jesse Savio, guitar; Tim Lee, bass; Matt Kato, drums; and DJ HOP, turntables.

Also performing: Paula Fuga, Jamarek, Family Dinner, Natalie Phoenix; with visuals by Dark and Errin McCollough. Part of the night's proceeds will go to Girl Fest Hawaii. www.myspace.com/kingsofspade.
