USA men beat Spain to win gold medal in basketball

Kobe Bryant scored 13 of his 20 points in the fourth period and the United States men's basketball team held off a game Spain club, 118-107, to win the gold medal.

Spain closed to 91-89 early in the fourth quarter before Bryant got hot, once scoring on a four-point play after hitting a 3-pointer and a free throw.

Dwyane Wade scored 27 points and LeBron James added 14 points.

Rudy Fernandez, who will be playing for the Portland Trail Blazers next season, scored 22 points in a little more than 17 minutes for Spain.
