No jellyfish found on Oahu on peak day

Advertiser Staff

The peak day for the monthly box jellyfish influx is supposed to be today, but Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said none were found.

"It's a bit unusual," Cheplic said. "None were found in Waikiki, Hanauma Bay, Makaha, Ala Moana ... anywhere. We're still letting people know this is the time of the month for the influx and to be careful."

Last month there were two influxes, which is also unusual. Cheplic said the checks will continue tomorrow.
