Weather: Clouds and a few showers expected today

Moderate trade winds over most of the state will diminish slightly through the middle of the week before picking up again, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Hawaii.

Conditions will be on the dry side today, but windward showers will increase through the rest of the week, forecasters said.

Here's how the next few days are shaping up:

Today: Isolated showers before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 11 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
