When Chinatown nightclub NextDoor closed for renovation in July, the weekly party known as Acid Wash was put on hold. Now, local promoter G-Spot has started up a new '80s-themed event, Totally 80s, at The Loft, 115 N. Hotel St. DJs G-Spot, Nocturna, Quiksilva and Vegas Mike are at the turntables spinning everything from classic Madonna to obscure industrial goth tunes.

Totally 80s breaks in its new digs at 9 tonight, and then repeats every Wednesday; free, 21 and older only. Information: www.double-o -spot.com; 591-3500.

FINAL WORD

"If you buy a ticket and win the lottery, I'll respect you all day long. But I have more admiration for you if you've carefully planned it all out."
