Nonprofit seminar set for Sept. 26

A one-day seminar for nonprofit organizations will be held next month sponsored by Chaminade University Tax Foundation, Chaminade University of Honolulu, Chaminade University Educational Foundation and the Hawai'i Medical Assurance Association.

It will be held Sept. 26 at the Pagoda Hotel's International Ballroom. Registration begins at 7:30 and the first presentation at 8:45 a.m.The fifth annual seminar will cost $125 a person for those who register by Sunday, Aug. 31 for the session; and $150 for those who sign up later.

Sponsors say the seminar will include recent legislative and regulatory changes including new rules on Form 990 and Act 174 relating to charitable trusts and nonprofit organizations.

Speakers include: James Hasselman, CPA; attorney Ray Kamikawa; state House speaker Calvin Say; and Wayne Tanna of Chaminade.
