A boy in his mid-teens was seriously injured this morning when he was hit by a car on Halona Road in Waianae, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.

First responders were sent out on the call about 6:46 a.m.

Cheplic said the boy was taken to an O'ahu trauma center for treatment.
