Black tip shark sighting closes down Ke'e Beach

Ke'e Beach was closed yesterday afternoon after a shark was seen in the area and will remain closed at least until this morning, Kaua'i County Ocean Safety officials said.

A 6- to 7-foot black tip shark was spotted in the lagoon yesterday afternoon, officials said.

"No swimming allowed" signs are posted in the area, along with warnings of the shark sighting.
