Advertiser Staff

A 21-year-old man from Wahaiwa is in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center after he was hit by a motorcycle in Waipahu, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle was in serious condition.

Police said the motorcycle was heading westbound on Uke'e Street near Kau Street when it hit the man at 6:21 p.m. on Friday.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year man who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle, police said. His initial condition was critical but he was upgraded to serious condition.

It appeared that speed was a factor, police said.
