I've been coming to Williamsport since 1990. It was the greatest comeback in a championship game that I've ever witnessed in Little League.

The following is the sequence of Waipi'o's improbable rally in the top of the sixth and final scheduled inning against Lake Charles, La.

Trailing 5-1, Waipi'o coach Timo Donahue had this to say to his players as they came off the field to bat:

"You're too good, too good to be coming out here hanging your head. No matter what happens in this next half inning, you guys are too good — No. 2 in the nation at worse. K? You guys hold your head up, and we go out and see what we got, three outs left. K? We come up short, that's the way it goes. Somebody's gotta lose. ... Right now, it looks like us. But it ain't over, you guys gotta believe. We got three outs to work with. Whatever happens you guys keep your heads up."
