Apoliona re-elected OHA chairwoman

Advertiser Staff

Haunani Apoliona was re-elected chairwoman of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs board of trustees today.

Walter Heen, who took over as vice chairman last year from John Waihe'e IV, will continue in that role.

Also continuing on will be the chairmen of OHA's two committees. Oz Stender will continue to head financial affairs as chairman of the Committee on Asset and Resource Management. His vice chairman will be Robert Lindsey.

Colette Machado will remain as chairwoman of the Committee on Beneficiary Advocacy and Empowerment. Her vice chairman will be Boyd Mossman.

The nine-member board voted on the lineup at a meeting today.

The board will hold an investiture ceremony 11 a.m. Friday at Central Union Church. Apoliona, as in recent years, will use the ceremony to outline the leadership's goals and priorities for the year.

This year's theme is "Pupukahi I Holomua," an 'Olelo No'eau that translates to "Unite to Move Forward."
