The local filmmakers who created "All For Melissa," a made-in-Hawai'i movie directed by Honolulu's Gerard Elmore, have launched a "Date Night" contest as they make a series of public appearances at DVD signings here this month.

The movie was released this month on DVD and is available in local Barnes & Noble and Borders stores, as well as online at www.Amazon.com and www.BestBuy.com.

In conjunction with the "Date Night" contest, filmmakers are giving away a signed DVD, $50 gift card and home spa treatment from Love Luna Spa. To enter, go to www.AllForMelissa.com. The contest closes Dec. 15, and the winner will be announced Dec. 21.

The film is the story of Jared Rogers, 22, a dreamer with a family that doesn't understand him and an unfulfilling job as a computer troubleshooter. He is also madly in love with red-hot actress Melissa Williams and has strange recurring dreams about her. Longtime friend Alicia helps Jared come up with a plan to meet Melissa. But things don't go exactly as planned.
