Weather: Mostly sunny today, tomorrow

An area of high pressure will shift north of the state today and Friday, allowing for a brief return of light to moderate trade winds, the National Weather Service said.

The winds will turn southeasterly this weekend as a weakening ridge moves back over the islands.

A cold front will approach the state from the west early next week bringing increasing southerly flow and moisture to the state.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. North wind at 7 mph becoming southeast.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. East wind between 3 and 11 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82. East wind between 7 and 13 mph.

Friday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Widespread haze after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
