Weather: Sunny today, a few showers tonight

Light to moderate trade winds will continue across the state today, bringing a few isolated showers to windward slopes and mauka areas through Sunday morning, the National Weather Service said.

A new weather front will approach Kauai from late Saturday through Monday, causing our winds to become lighter as the low-level flow gradually shifts to a southeasterly direction later this weekend, forecasters said.

Here's what's in store fore the weekend:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 82. East wind around 14 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
