Police looking for Big Island 'escapee'

The Hawaii Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a 20-year-old Kona man wanted for escape.

Timothy DeCastro is under house arrest and is wanted for second-degree escape for leaving home this past Wednesday in violation of the terms of his release.

He is believed to be with 17-year-old Mara Martinson and their 2-month-old daughter. Martinson left with DeCastro and failed to return to her Kailua, Kona home.

DeCastro and Martinson were last seen around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

DeCastro is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-10, about 220 pounds with short, curly blond hair and hazel eyes.

Martinson is described as Puerto Rican, 5-foot-6, about 165 to 170 pounds with brown eyes and long, straight brown hair.

Police ask anyone with information on their whereabouts to call Officer Jon Carvalho at 808-326-4646, ext. 253, or the Police Department's nonemergency line at 808-935-3311.
