Apoliona to outline OHA goals at ceremony today

Advertiser Staff

An investiture ceremony for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs is set for 11 a.m. today at Central Union Church.

Haunani Apoliona, who was re-elected chairwoman of the OHA board of trustees this week, plans to use the occasion to outline the leadership's goals and priorities for the year.

This year's theme is "Pupukahi I Holomua," an 'Olelo No'eau that translates to "Unite to Move Forward."

The nine-member OHA board voted on its leadership lineup at a meeting Monday.

Walter Heen, who took over as vice chairman last year from John Waihe'e IV, will continue in that role.

Also continuing on will be the chairmen of OHA's two committees. Oz Stender will continue to head financial affairs as chairman of the Committee on Asset and Resource Management. His vice chairman will be Robert Lindsey.

Colette Machado will remain as chairwoman of the Committee on Beneficiary Advocacy and Empowerment. Her vice chairman will be Boyd Mossman.
