Weather: Isolated showers likely for next few days

A high pressure area north of the state will move south, weakening the trade winds today and Sunday, the National Weather Service said.

A front will approach Kaua'i from the northwest on Monday, then weaken and lift north of the islands, forecasters said.

Another stronger and wetter front will reach the islands by midweek.

Here's how the weekend looks as of now:

Today: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Widespread haze after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Monday: Widespread haze before noon. Sunny, with a high near 80. Light southwest wind.

Monday night: Isolated showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
