Pipeline Masters postponed today; better swell expected tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

The Billabong Pipeline Masters men's surfing contest is postponed today due to a lack of quality waves at the Banzai Pipeline.

Today is the first day of the holding period for the prestigious event. Contest officials have until Dec. 20 to complete the contest.

The contest may start tomorrow, when a swell is expected to hit O'ahu's North Shore.

The Pipeline Masters is the final contest of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing Series.

The world's top surfers are expected to compete in the Pipeline Masters, including world champion Kelly Slater of Florida, and former world champ Andy Irons of Kaua'i.
