HECO employees, retirees author new cookbook

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Co. employees and retirees have compiled "A Taste of HECO: Pupu and Desserts," a cookbook featuring more than 150 recipes, with sale proceeds to benefit the Aloha United Way.

The new cookbook features a built-in pop-up stand to make reading recipes while cooking a breeze.

Copies of the book are priced at $10 and can be purchased at Hawaiian Electric's two customer service offices:

• 900 Richards St., open from 7:30 a.m, to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

• 820 Ward Ave., open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Cookbooks may also be ordered through the mail. Log on to heco.com to print out a cookbook order form with more detailed information about shipping costs and the mailing address, or call Karen Horiuchi at 543-4444 or Terry Garcia at 543-7352 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. with questions.

Today and tomorrow only, the cookbook can be purchased at the YWCA Bake Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the downtown YWCA lobby.
