Kapolei Hale City Lights and parade this Saturday

Games, food booths, employee tree displays and holiday lights will be part of the seventh annual Kapolei Hale City Lights celebration starting at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The annual Kapolei Electric Light Parade starts at Kealanani Avenue at 6 p.m. The parade route turns left on Farrington Highway, goes along Kamokila Boulevard and ends on Uluohia Street.

After the parade, Mayor Mufi Hannemann, first lady Gail Mukaihata-Hannemann and special guests will light the city's 35-foot tree at Kapolei Hale at 8 p.m.

Santa Claus will visit from 7:30 to 9 p.m. There will also be a 2008 Christmas Poster Coloring Contest, free goodie bags for children and keiki games and activities. Throughout the evening, holiday entertainment will be presented by the Nanakuli High School drama class and other special guests.

The decorated trees and posters will be displayed inside Kapolei Hale through Jan. 2 — Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 4 to 9 p.m.
