LCC will host recycling to benefit Waipahu High

Leeward Community College is hosting an Aloha 'Aina Earth Day recycling effort from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on behalf of Waipahu High School.

Among the items being accepted: scrap metal, refrigerators, air conditioners, athletic shoes (no metal cleats), newspapers, cardboard, beverage containers, tires (limit four passenger tires per household), cooking oil, green waste, foam, all batteries, plastic bags and hangers, telephone books and magazines, used eyeglasses and hearing aids, used clothing and household items, cellular phones and print cartridges and computers (one per household).

No TVs, microwave ovens, paint, hazardous fluids or gas tanks are being accepted.
