Rain problems now stacking up around Oahu

Advertiser Staff

A number of flooded homes are now being reported due to the heavy rains, particularly in Central Oahu.

Firefighters have been called to several homes in Mililani, at least one home in Waianae and another in Hauula to help homeowners deal with the flooding.

At one point this morning, the Kalihi Police Substation was operating on a backup diesel generator after electrical service was lost. Power outages have been reported around the island.

Rain at various points around the island has been falling at the rate of 3 or 4 inches per hour.
