Police shut down Kunia Road near Schofield

The earth under a section of Kunia Road eroded because of a broken water main. Police closed the road in both directions from Lyman Gate on Schofield Barracks to the entrance to Kunia tunnel.

Military police redirected Kunia Road traffic yesterday. The road was still closed today in both directions from Lyman Gate on Schofield Barracks to Anonui Street in Royal Kunia.

Police have closed Kunia Road in both directions from Lyman Gate on Schofield Barracks to the entrance to Kunia tunnel.

A broken water main caused the earth to erode under a section of the road, creating a possibility the road might collapse, police said.

A repair crew is on the scene.
