NFL: Giants' Jacobs to miss Dallas game

Associated Press

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Halfback Brandon Jacobs is going to miss the New York Giants game with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday because of a knee injury.

Jacobs aggravated his left knee in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and did not practice this week.

Coach Tom Coughlin says the coaches don't think he will be ready.

Jacobs leads the Giants with 1,002 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Derrick Ward.

Ahmad Bradshaw and second-year pro Danny Ware, who has never carried the ball in an NFL game, will back him up.
