Gov. Linda Lingle today signed a state disaster proclamation for O'ahu, and Kaua'i and Maui counties to help in the recovery from yesterday's storm.

The proclamation will provide resources for disaster response that could include activation of the Hawai'i National Guard and access to housing relief and loans for people whose homes or businesses have been damaged, said a statement from the governor's office.
