CAPITOL DISTRICT
Choir, harpist perform free at library Dec. 20

The Hawaii State Library will host "A Ceremony of Carols," a free performance featuring The Trebles (the women's choir of the Lutheran Church of Honolulu) and 17-year-old harpist Melody Rose Lindsay, at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 20 in the first-floor lobby.

Under the direction of Carl Crosier, The Trebles will perform selections from "A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten and "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day" by John Rutter.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii, the 45-minute performance is free and open to the public.

Lindsay, a high school senior, is the youngest harpist to receive the Mildren Biehn Johnson Award for "outstanding musical promise" from the American Harp Society of the Western Hemisphere.

The library is at 478 South King St. For more information, call the library at 586-3535.
