Cable replacement job to delay Big Island traffic

Advertiser Staff

Hawaii Electric Light Co. crews began working Monday in Waikoloa to replace an underground cable from the Post Office area on Pua Melia Street down Paniolo Avenue to Francolin Place.

The work is blocking one of the south-bound Paniolo lanes. Security guards will direct traffic around the area.

Motorists should anticipate 10 to 12 minute delays.

Work will be daily, except holidays, for the next five to six weeks.
