Weather: Mostly cloudy for the rest of the week

Advertiser Staff

A moderate southeast low-level flow will persist into the weekend as high pressure remains far northeast of the state and an area of low pressure meanders several hundred miles west of Kaua'i, the National Weather Service said.

The low will continue to produce periods of high clouds over the state and will bring a better chance of rainfall to the western end of the island chain, forecasters said.

Trade winds are expected to return early next week as the low drifts off to the west.

Here's a closer look at what's expected for the rest of the week:

Today: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. East wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
