Marines forecast: 30 tons of snow for party

Advertiser Staff

Today's weather forecast calls for 30 tons of snow to be dumped at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe this afternoon, just enough white stuff for the Marines to hold a holiday family party from 2 to 5 p.m.

Family members and friends of Marines and sailors currently deployed will have the opportunity to get together with others who are preparing to deploy during the holiday season.

Games and activities for the children, military static displays, Assault Amphibian Vehicle rides, and a special appearance by Santa Claus are part of the festivities.

The snow is being donated by Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and will be delivered by refrigerated trucks.
