North Shore disaster recovery center now at old Haleiwa gym

The Disaster Assistance Recovery Center in Haleiwa will be at the Waialua Community Building, or old Haleiwa gym, today and tomorrow, state Civil Defense said.

The recovery center was moved to 66-434 Kamehameha Highway from its former location at the Haleiwa Shingon Mission.

Centers are also open in Wai'anae at the Makaha Resort and Golf Club, 84-626 Makaha Valley Road; the Kualoa Ranch; and in Laie at the Brigham Young University-Hawai'i, Aloha Center, Rooms 155 and 156, 55-220 Kulanui St.

State Civil Defense is asking O'ahu businesses, community groups, service clubs and faith-based organizations to join in the recovery effort. Contact Havinne Okamura at 733-4300, ext. 556, or e-mail at hokamura@scd.hawaii.gov.
