NFL: Packers place Bigby on injured reserve

Associated Press

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers have placed safety Atari Bigby on injured reserve, sidelining him for the final two games of what has been a disappointing season.

Bigby, a former practice squad player who became one of the team's most pleasant surprises last season, has been slowed by injuries for most of 2008 and has played in only seven games. His most recent injury is to his shoulder.

The Packers signed defensive tackle Anthony Toribio to take Bibgy's spot on the active roster and signed fullback Russ Weil to their practice squad.
