NFL: Vanden Bosch feeling better after surgery

Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch watched practice today, two days after having surgery on his groin, and said he feels better than he did a week ago.

"I'm confident that it's fixed now," Vanden Bosch said.

Vanden Bosch will miss the final three games of the regular season because of an injury sustained Dec. 7 against Cleveland. He already had missed three games with another groin injury that limited him throughout October and November. Vanden Bosch said he aggravated some abdominal muscles compensating for the first injury and needed it repaired.

He expects to be back when the Titans host a divisional playoff on either Jan. 10 or 11.

"They have a four-week protocol that should have me back for the game. It's a delicate balance of letting it heal and getting back in playing shape. The emphasis is taking it a little bit easy this week, let the surgery heal itself and the repair heal. After that, it's full steam ahead just trying to help this team win in the playoffs," Vanden Bosch said.

Vanden Bosch had 12› sacks last season but 4› this season.
