Half-staff flags Saturday in honor of Maui's Nakasone

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle has ordered state flags at all state and county buildings to be flown at half-staff Saturday in honor of state Rep. and former Maui County Councilmember Bob Nakasone, who died Dec. 7 at age 68.

Nakasone's funeral is Saturday at Ballard Family Mortuary on Maui.

In a proclamation, Lingle recognized Nakasone as "a leader, mediator and champion for the Maui community. He pushed for improved health care and played an important role in securing major capital improvements for Kahului Harbor and the Kahului Airport."
