HAWAIIAN AIRLINES

Hawaiian Airlines has appointed Lisa Lei Lai station manager of transpacific flight operations at Oakland International Airport. She most recently served as Maui interim station manager at Hawaiian's Kahului Airport flight operation. She became Hawaiian's first female ramp manager in 2005.

HAWAII PUBLIC RADIO

Bernadette Ku'uipo Shimono, who has served as controller of Hawaii Public Radio since 1992, has been promoted to vice president, finance, of the organization.

PACIFIC ISLANDERS IN COMMUNICATIONS

Pacific Islanders in Communications has promoted Leann Yeung to the position of director of operations and has hired Leanne Kang Ferrer as program director.

Yeung joined PIC in 2005 as an administrative assistant and was promoted to operations manager in 2006.

Formerly with Disney Films, Ferrer is an award-winning 20-year veteran of the film and television industry.

PIC has appointed the following to its board of directors:

President, Ramsay Taum, director of external relations and community partnerships at University of Hawai'i-Manoa's School of Travel Industry Management; vice president, Kevin Harris, vice president and television station manager of WETA in Arlington, Va.; filling the American Samoa board seat, Regina Meredith, art professor at American Samoa Community College.

ATLAS INSURANCE AGENCY

Atlas Insurance Agency Inc. has appointed Sharon Hodson as vice president in its Commercial Lines Division. She will manage the division's independent agent workforce.

NOTKIN HAWAII

Sachin Shah has been promoted to principal at Notkin Hawaii Inc. A seven-year employee of Notkin, he helped design the HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for such Hawai'i projects as The Honolulu Advertiser Production Facility, The Watermark and Trump International Hotel & Tower in Waikiki.

ALTRES HR

ALTRES HR, provider of human resource administration services to local businesses, has hired Leilani Benson as human resource specialist on Maui and Joey Lee as manager of client care at the company's headquarters in Honolulu.

SUNTECH HAWAII

Suntech Hawaii, the state's largest locally owned solar integrator, has hired Kenneth Lou and GABRIEL CHONG as project engineers.

UNIVERSITY OF HAWAI'I

John Hashimoto has been named University of Hawai'i director of risk management. He is responsible for overall leadership and direction of risk management functions for all 10 campuses in the university system.

MARTIN & MACARTHUR

Martin & MacArthur has hired STEVEN HILL as director of design. He will work collaboratively with JON MARTIN to develop new furniture lines and custom furniture designs.

MCNEIL WILSON COMMUNICATIONS

McNeil Wilson Communications Inc. had promoted Melissa Kim from account coordinator to assistant account executive in the firm's public affairs division.
