A man who escaped early today from the Laumaka work furlough program in Kalihi was captured this afternoon with the assistance of an adult corrections officer.

Larry Wayne Peterson, 31, also known as Larry Wyane Joyner, escaped at 1:30 a.m. and was caught at 3:15 p.m. Peterson, who has 17 prior convictions, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree escape.
