KALIHI VALLEY
Alleged drug dealing near school leads to 3 arrests

Police yesterday arrested two men and a woman on suspicion that they were selling crystal methamphetamine near a Kalihi Valley elementary school.

The men, ages 37 and 36, were arrested at different locations — one in Kalihi and the other at his working place in Wahiawa — while the woman, 43, was taken into custody in Kalihi.

The arrests were part of an undercover operation by the Kalihi patrol district's Crime Reduction Unit following community complaints about drug dealing at Kalihi and Laumaile streets near Kalihi Uka Elementary School.

Kalihi crime reduction officers did a similar investigation about two years ago at the same location, which resulted in arrests.

The suspects were arrested for investigation of second-degree meth trafficking and illegal gambling, which involved pitching coins.
