High surf advisory issued for eastern shores

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the east-facing shores of Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i, Maui and the Big Island, effective until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Fresh trade winds over and east of the state are generating rough and choppy surf 6 to 8 feet that will continue for the next few days, the Weather Service said.

Elsewhere today, surf will be 5 to 7 feet along northern shores, 3 to 5 feet along west shores and 2 feet or less in town along south shores.
