Advertiser Staff

A Coast Guard C-130 aircraft flew a 25-year-old man from Maui to O'ahu yesterday morning after a head-on motor vehicle collision on Maui.

Coast Guard officials said they received a call from a state Department of Health official about a man who was injured in a 3:45 a.m. accident.

A Coast Guard C-130 long-range search aircraft crew from Air Station Barbers Point was en route to Kahului International Airport with a disaster medical assist team at 6:15 a.m. to pick up the man.

The crew returned to Honolulu International Airport, where city Emergency Medical Services personnel took the man by ambulance to The Queen's Medical Center.
