BOYS II MEN VALENTINE

R&B/soul favorite Boys II Men will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 — yes, that's Valentine's Day —at the Blaisdell Arena.

The Grammy Award-winning ensemble began as a harmonizing quintet in 1988 in Philadelphia, but rose to fame as a quartet in the early 1990s. The ensemble is down to three now: Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris, all original members.

STARLIGHT BALL JAN. 10

The Honolulu Academy of Arts' fundraising Starlight Ball is happening from 7 to 11 p.m. Jan. 10 on the museum grounds.

The theme is "When Cool Was King," meant to take attendees back to the Rat Pack days of Frank Sinatra and company. There's jazzy entertainment, vocalists including Cathy Foy and Don Nahaku, the Cherry Blossom Cabaret and a buffet dinner and cocktails and more.
