Firefighters responded to dozens of calls of people stuck in elevators when the power went out.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., the Honolulu Fire Department helped more than 42 people who were stranded in elevators.

Firefighters also responded to 73 other calls of assistance, including for people on electric-powered ventilators who needed to be transported to the hospital.
