H-1 eastbound flowing again after accident near Pearl City

Advertiser Staff

The H-1 Freeway in the Pearl City area is again flowing freely following a vehicular accident that police said had closed the three right eastbound lanes at the Lehua underpass.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Emergency Services Department, said four people were taken to a local area hospital in stable condition with minor injuries from the accident just before the Waimalu off-ramp on the eastbound H-1. The accident happened just before 11:15 a.m.

The lane closures backed up traffic to Waikele and were affecting eastbound traffic on the H-2 Freeway as well.

But the backup had been cleared shortly before 1 p.m.
